@plainjanesmith Alright man, whatever. Jesus also encouraged us to live and let live, love others, and see the beauty in others and the world around us. The body is an exceptional thing of beauty. Dan is an image of health, so I am personally inspired to see him being so free-spirited and healthy looking, and I personally find NOTHING offensive about nakedness. But you are welcome to your opinion about Dan here. To each his own. Peace.
@TooBusy45 This was not good enough as a covering and involved a bare chest; Gen 3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they [were] naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. So God made coats of skins see Gen 3:21. Coats in that verse is the Hebrew word for mantle which is very well covering of the human form and btw, the type of bright shining garments of light used in heaven does not highlight a persons body refer to the angels at the tomb
@TooBusy45 Read Gen 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. After man sinned God went looking for Adam and Eve who now hid themselves as they were ashamed of themselves and their nakedness which involved a covered loin and for Adam a bare chest. Their fig leaves or shorts as the world wears today were insufficient so God made them ‘coats’ of skins. He covered them up and expects the same of us today. It’s all in the Bible, read it.
@TooBusy45 Adam and Eve were not ashamed of their nakedness before sin in the sense they did not wear artificial garments like we do. they were covered in white shining garments as the angels appeared at the tomb of Jesus to the disciples. That is the robe of heaven that will be restored to the redeemed one day. The garments of heaven are not artificial and when man was created in God’s own image, he also had this garment. After sin man lost that covering and God wants to restore all things.
@plainjanesmith And btw, you are not understanding the passage. Obviously it is impossible for being “covered by clothing” and “covered by light” to mean the same thing. So your analogy makes no sense. If light covers someone while naked, it illuminates their nakedness. Duh. And that passage about “light,” as God’s garment, etc. is a metaphor, a reference to the Sun. Just reading/quoting any cryptic/complex spiritual text is useless, here and elsewhere. You must understand its origins/meanings.
@plainjanesmith Quoting scripture is irrelevant. Look at context and think for yourself, you have to use common sense when applying a belief. Oh yes, he is showing the body is a way that displays such poor character, he is dishonoring it somehow here… what lewdness… by showing you his brilliant health and being his free self. RIGHT. (Sarcasm.) And excuse me? Garments of light? That equals NAKED. You come into this world naked, and the body is BEAUTIFUL. And btw, Dan’s kitchen light is on.
